Mission Statement

The principal mission The Heart of a Child Foundation is to fund research to find the root causes of congenital heart defects, and to improve the care and treatment of children born with these defects to enable them to lead healthy and meaningful lives.

The Foundation will achieve these goals by supporting:

• Research in Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery

• Programs to fund fellowships to attract talented surgeons, physicians, and researchers to devote their careers toward the study and the care and treatment of children with congenital heart defects.

• Efforts to greatly improve pre and neo-natal detection of congenital heart defects through education and dissemination programs in the medical community.

• Organizations that provide for the development and care of children with congenital heart defects, and educate and support their parents.
